Educational Technology Program Management

For this part of my portfolio, I will be referring to my work at MSCC as director of curriculum and instructional technology more often than examples of best works at UALR.  My studies have helped me enhance many aspects of my position, so there is relevance.  Following are a few examples of how I manage the educational technology program I am over:

1.  LMS:  At MSCC, we use Blackboard as our Learning Management System.  Here is a short presentation tutorial covering this topic:  LMS/CMS

Here is an analysis done for LSTE 7330 that is in fact accurate:  Choosing an LMS

2.  Legal Issues:  Here is a paper that I wrote for LSTE 7330 that I continue to distribute among faculty at MSCC:  Copyright Law

3.  Quality Assurance:  It is my job to ensure that all newly developed online and hybrid course sites meet all of the MSCC criteria before going live.  This flowchart that I created for LSTE 7330 is an accurate depiction of the process:  Checkpoints flow chart

4.   Faculty Training provided / workshops:  It is my job to develop and present faculty training workshops.  Most - but not all - of my workshops have a technology focus.  I do most  - but not all- of the training myself.  I occasionally bring in speakers, or have a group travel to a conference or workshop.  I also have an assistant who has become quite good at presenting technical skills workshops.  Here is just one example of a handout that I created for LSTE 7330, that I really do use in a workshop:  Active Learning Resources

5.  Online Resources for Faculty:  Many handouts, presentations and tutorials for almost all of my workshops can be found here:  MSCC Shared Learning Objects / Faculty Development
Some items found on this site were in fact created during course work at UALR.  Not everyone on this page was developed my me.  The idea is to get many faculty members art MSCC to contribute to the ongoing learning process of academic instructors.
